Royal Family Kids Camp

It may be our smallest audience -- in both age and quantity -- but singing for these kids has become one of our favorite performances each year. These kids appreciate our appearance perhaps more than any other audience. Congratulations to chorus member Ken and his wife Sandy Hamlin for there tireless efforts organizing this annual summer camp.

Birth of a Logo!

After months of searching, dozens of potential designs and a lot of tweaking, Bemo and Sandy unveiled the new logo for the Voices of America. Actually, there is a "family" of logos based on the design you see above. So watch for them in use throughout the website (more on the way) as well as merchandise and other printed materials.

A special thanks to Mike Russo for the designs. Mike is a fellow barbershopper from Louisiana. Be sure to visit his website at www.russoadgroup.com (Webmaster note: I see a lot of websites, this has to be one of the most creative, amazing uses of flash technology I've ever seen!)

Everyone in the group received a new t-shirt with the new logo,
which debuted at rehearsal on April 18th.

With help from Clinton Dougherty (left), president Sandy Gumm unveils the new logo.

Left: Mike McKim models the new t-shirt while director Bemo Myers describes some of the features
and flexibility of new logo. Right: Byron Myers proudly shows off his new shirt...
and the sticker that came with it!

Birth of a Quartet -- Chordtime!

On April 11th, 2006, a new quartet -- Chordtime -- performed in front of their home chapter, the Voices of America. Although certain quartet members reported having significant "jitters" they did great! The chorus wishes them well as they get ready to compete later this year. Left to right, the members are Ed Witham (bari), Don Ransom (bass), David Webb (lead) and Gene Newman (tenor)

The Chorus can now boast connections to four quartets, which you can find here.

Webmaster note: My apologies for the poor picture quality, it does not reflect the high quality of the quartet. I just didn't have the right camera handy!
